My Ex: the epitome of a deadbeat dad

I am constantly amazed at my ex-husband, which you would think after 16 years of knowing this man, I would not be. But alas, it is true, I am! The man has been in Texas since January, which just happens to be the last time I received a child support check. On 2/1/08, IL CSE sent out a notice to his employer to withhold child support. Well, on 3/29/08, I received a copy of a second notice CSE sent to his same employer. The company has still not taken any child support out of his paycheck, which is actually illegal. In the second CSE notice, the state informed the employer what would happen if he or she does not take out the required child support, even sending a form for him or her to fill out if this person is no longer employed with them.

What pisses me off about all of this is that the SOB has not given me or his kids an address where we can contact him UNTIL he sent $100 to the KIDS for EASTER (do you ever spend $100 on Easter? I sure don’t). On the envelope, which I saved, had a Texas P.O. box address. He lives in some tiny ass town in Southwest, TX. I am firmly convinced he moved there to 1) get farther away from his kids (he was in Missouri), 2) delay paying child support and 3) be closer to the Mexican drug world.  He just better not piss off a drug lord like he has pissed me off lmao!

The SOB ex made it completely clear to my son on the telephone that this $100 he sent (which was CASH sent through the postal mail…I never said he was smart) was strictly for EASTER, not CHILD SUPPORT. Whatever, buddy. Just remember, this money does NOT count toward paying child support and as far as the State of IL is concerned, you still haven’t paid!

My ex still is in contact with my children through these generic prepaid cell phones he bought them at Christmas time. I am sure he knew then that he was going to be moving again (the millionth time he has moved since our divorce in 1997).  Anyhoo, he left strict orders for the kids’ usage of the phones: call family only, meaning HIS family, not your friends and “your mother does not have any authority over this phone because I bought it, so hide it if necessary.” Oh, and anytime he calls, the kids better answer or respond to his text messages.

One day not too long ago, I texted him and asked when he was planning on paying child support again. His response was to go off on me as usual. But the man is 100% stupid! All he kept texting me was, “All you want from me is $$$.” Yeah, like I am a millionaire from all the child support I have received over the years! And HELLOOO idiot, this money is to support your CHILDREN, remember them? The ones you have left behind on numerous occasions? He even went as far as to DEMAND I put our son on a plane to Texas this summer AND that our daughter goes to visit his mommy in Missouri for the WHOLE summer. One, no way am I letting my son go to Texas to see that man. Mexico is just too damn close. Two, I do not have to let them cross state line with you. Finally, the divorce decree does not state I have to do either one of these things, especially having the kids see his mother.

The divorce decree was created when the loser still lived in IL. I had asked my lawyer once if I had to let the kids see him in another state if he moved. The answer was no.

It’s been almost 11 years since our divorce and I think he’s a bigger asshole now than he was then! I thought people were supposed to mellow with age, not the reverse!
